Empty Bowl 2026

Where Art, Community, and Food Security Come Together

In 2025 the Bonner Community Food Bank served more than 41,000 household visits — and nearly 40% of those households are senior citizens living on fixed incomes.

The Empty Bowl Fundraiser is a powerful reminder that hunger isn’t far away. It touches senior citizens choosing between groceries and medicine or if they're able to heat their homes. It affects families working hard but still stretched thin. And it calls all of us to respond.

At this meaningful afternoon gathering, guests will select a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl created by student artists from the Sandpoint High School Art Department. These young artists have invested their time and talent to support neighbors they may never meet — including seniors in our community. It is a beautiful example of intergenerational care: students giving back to elders, businesses standing alongside families, and a community choosing to show up for one another.

Guests will enjoy a simple meal made possible by generous local partners, then take their bowl home as a reminder that everyone deserves access to nutritious food and the wellbeing that comes with it.

Every donation helps provide healthy food options - support, dignity and independence for seniors, and strengthen stability for households across Bonner County.

Join us. Share a meal. Stand with your neighbors. Help turn empty bowls into full tables.
